"Performance" .. To........"Exceeding Performance"

As a LinkedIn member since 2007, I have always enjoyed connecting and sharing my learnings and experiences. Many of my learners would relate to my holistic thinking process. Improving things continuously and consulting others is in my DNA and hence thought of writing on performance this time which is an integral part of our personal and professional life.

Added on Wednesday - 29th November, 2023. The past few months I have been discussing on my- Self care, self-realization, personal physical and mental health. I understand the more you discuss the more knowledge you gain and spread awareness. This plays a very important role on your performance and increase productivity.

The main thought is to facilitate all the readers benefit from these writings. All my articles are very special to me but this one is very close to me.

PERFORMANCE – is an important area for all of us.

Whether it is in our personal or professional life.

In my previous articles I have been stressing on self- development,

Why "Self-Development" is so…. “VERY IMPORTANT” …..in the VUCA World. It is now a "Survival skills" | LinkedIn how can we be a better version of ourselves,

Should - "We be in a constant state of Evolution" ? / Better version of yourself(Happy 2019) | LinkedIn upgrade our soft skills and hence have thought of continuing the same and connect on performance.

Success and growth are parameters that not only define us but are also our own milestones or pit stops. Let take guidance from our teachers, mentors, coaches HR Consultants on our targets and GOALS in life. In my opinion, one must start early to connect with Industry Experts to start being a PERFORMER. I would recommend that we must remind ourself everyday on WHAT IS THE PURPOSE?.

Self- Belief, Positivity, Confidence, Persistence and Attitude (THESE were the tools I used to work on my performance since my SACRED HEART HIGH SCHOOL DAYS) and these 2 letters C- CONNECT and C – Communication helped me get my 1st BREAK in the Service and hospitality Industries. The best example I would like to share here is the candidate who rejected my offer in 2011, the same candidate gave me my 1st break, when I started my Entrepreneural journey in 2015. Over the last decade and in the current VUCA World - To grow, irrespective of any generation we need to go beyond performances specially if we are inspiring to be at the top of corporate ladder. The big question for us everyday should be “DO WE WANT TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE THROUGH OUR PERFORMANCE? ”, When we start thinking beyond our limitations and challenges we create a VALUE. Value in Business, Society and Community at large.

Some of the steps that we as “Employee / Employer can take: 

Communicating in a manner to engage, connect and influence co-workers towards advancing the overall organizational goals

Building effective teams and collaborate with others to achieve maximum results

Demonstrating active interest in developing self and others in the team

Driving for results by working effectively with others with speed and excellence

One Imperative area: Showing Solidarity towards your fraternity.

We don’t own positive responses but definitely sensitive responses. (My today’s learning)

BEYOND PERFORMANCE (In my opinion the efforts should start while you are studying). I must mention this to my views that "SOFT SKILLS CAN HELP NOT ONLY IN MENTAL WELL BEING BUT HOLISTIC DEVELOPMENT" and this process has helped me exceed performance many a times.

WORKING FROM THE SOUL. Has given me a different prospective on PERFORMANCE. Some of the pointers that I would like to mention I have incorporated below-

An ideal work place where we can share our opinions without any hesitation, It also offers ample growth opportunities to others. It must help us improve not only as a professional but also as an individual.

We must receive constructive criticism from time to time and most importantly, where our well-being is prioritized. And in my current phase of spiritual and culture understanding it is about C- Collobration, C – Consulting …this process has changed for me as my “INTENT” has changed completely as I am in complete transformation phase.

I am very happy that this SOUL journey is transforming me completely. The PURPOSE IS BIGGER and I have started experiencing the business results which are not only amazing but also I see some magic in my day to day work.

I have tremendous respect for Archana Vijayan , although I am a complete stranger to her, she took time to give me a tiny sentence of “Advice” - that mattered for me at a time when I’m trying to find my space in the corporate world again.
