Pesticides & Chemicals poison our Food

Pesticides & Chemicals poison our Food

The best soil which we can see is in Jungles & Forests.

The reason being simple that we are not able to pollute it with chemicals.

Our Soil for fertility needs fertilisers. If we induce natural fertilisers then the Land becomes rich in nutrients.

Our plants & trees attract insects , birds & animals. They come to feed on them.

We have friendly insects like earth worms. Birds, Butterflies & Honey bees help the fruits & flowers in propagation.

More than 80 percent of the world’s flowering plants need a pollinator to reproduce; and we need pollinators too, since most of our food comes from flowering plants. One out of every three bites of our food, including fruits, vegetables, chocolate, coffee, nuts, and spices, is created with the help of pollinators.

Honey bees alone pollinate 80 percent of all flowering plants, including more than 130 types of fruits and vegetables.

How seeds are made

Hummingbirds zig-zag through the warm air to sip nectar from fresh flowers, while bees and butterflies hover over budding farm crops. Even beetles, ants, and bats get in on the action, dining on a cornucopia of protein-rich pollen.

In return for a delicious meal, these birds , animals & insect help the plants to reproduce by moving pollen between the male (anther) and female (stigma) parts of a flower. This act of pollination is the first step in generating seeds, which create new plants.

What I have done to increase the Biodiversity in my farm ...

  1. We have a Mud pond filled with water for the birds. Will try to keep the Swimming pool also filled all the time.
  2. Flowers like Marigold, Sun flowers & other colourful flowers attract the bees & butterflies.
  3. Vermi compost is added to soil to make it more alive.
  4. Cow dung manure will be used along with Neem leaves & Mustard cake to add nutrients.
  5. Lemon grass , Lavender , Mint & other herbs will give our garden fragrance & grace yet keep the insects away from the vegetable plants.
  6. Later on will add Banana plants & Bamboos in a row to make GREEN WALLS.
  7. Will introduce raised beds soon for Herbs & medicinal plants gardening.
  8. We would like to have our own Tomatoes, Onions, Potatoes, Salad leaves, Capsicum, Chillies , Farm grown Garlic & Ginger for our FARM COOKING Sessions in January & February.
  9. We will get fire wood from Bamboos & a few trees specially grown for the purpose.
  10. Last but not the least we will watch the Birds, Bees & Butterflies to soak in Happiness & induce Healthy pollution free Air into our system.
