The Peter Segall Innovation Fellowship: A Leap Towards Youth Career Readiness

American Student Assistance® (ASA) is proud to announce a significant milestone and a game-changing opportunity for graduate, doctorate, or postdoctoral students in the Boston area: the inaugural Peter Segall Innovation Fellows Program! This initiative marks a leap forward in our commitment to shaping the future of youth career readiness.

A Legacy of Innovation

This program is more than a new chapter; it's a tribute to Mr. Peter Segall, who dedicated two decades of service on ASA's Board (1998-2022), leaving an indelible mark on our organization. Mr. Segall's influence in pioneering edtech solutions and strategic product development for innovation has paved the way for this unique Fellowship.

ASA's Continuous Commitment

ASA has been at the forefront of transforming how young people explore careers and navigate postsecondary education. Our commitment to advancing knowledge and staying at the forefront of career readiness tools is evident in the expansion of our free suite of mobile experiences for teens, impacting over 15 million students to date.

Nurturing Tomorrow's Leaders

The Peter Segall Innovation Fellows Program aims to build on this legacy by focusing on improving career readiness outcomes for teens. The selected Fellow will collaborate with ASA staff across Research, Product, Marketing, and Partnerships to instill creative confidence and an entrepreneurial mindset in our youth, preparing them for a dynamic future.

Real-World Challenges, Real Impact

Segall Innovation Fellows will tackle real-world business challenges annually. From creating K-12 student innovation spaces to addressing complex business models and sustainability questions, this Fellowship offers a unique opportunity for Fellows to develop substantive skills and business acumen while advancing their scholarly focus.

Calling Future Innovators

Prospective Fellows are encouraged to submit comprehensive proposals, including their resume or CV and a detailed cover letter addressing their motivation, a brief description of a scholarly project related to ASA’s mission, and how this project could bring innovation to ASA. Proposals will be accepted until April 30, 2024.

Shaping the Future Together

We firmly believe that the Peter Segall Innovation Fellows Program will significantly contribute to advancing ASA's commitment to youth career readiness. We invite you to share this incredible opportunity with students who may find it of interest.

As we embark on this exciting journey, we appreciate your consideration and eagerly anticipate witnessing the transformative contributions that ASA’s future Fellow will bring to the table!

That's fantastic news! 🚀 Nelson Mandela once said, "Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world." Your initiative not only opens doors for further education but paves the way for a brighter future for many. Wishing all the Segall Fellows the best in their journey towards innovation and change! 🌟 #Empowerment #Innovation #FutureLeaders
