Pickleball in the Sun is a Proud Sponsor of Paddles for PanCan in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida

Pickleball in the Sun is proud to be a sponsor and supporter of the Paddles for PanCan pickleball tournament. This tournament is a great opportunity to have some fun while supporting a crucial cause.

I recently had the pleasure of speaking with tournament founder Mike Buresh, Chief Meteorologist of Action News Jax, about his inspiration for organizing this event. Mike is a passionate advocate for pancreatic cancer awareness and research. He shared some alarming statistics: over 66,000 Americans are expected to be diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2024—that’s 180 people every day. But together, we can make a difference.

The Paddles for PanCan Pickleball Tournament is your chance to participate in a fun and friendly competition while supporting a crucial cause. This mixed doubles tournament is open to all skill levels, with intermediate (under 3.5) and advanced (3.5+ players) divisions. Whether you're new to pickleball or a seasoned player, your participation honors those affected by pancreatic cancer.

Tournament Details:

  • Date & Time: Saturday, November 16, 2024, Games begin at 8:00 AM
  • Registration Fee: $100 per player
  • Don't forget to wear purple to show your support!

All proceeds benefit Jacksonville’s PanCan division, funding critical research and support for those impacted by pancreatic cancer.

Pickleball in the Sun will be onsite for some fun open play if you're interested in trying the sport. Hosted by Mike Buresh and Marithza Calderon-Ross , it's definitely going to be a great time for an even better cause!
