A Picture Un-paintable.
There is a picture un-paintable,
It hangs on a wall in my heart,
Beautifully ugly,
Like a lighthouse torn apart.
What eyes have seen,
Words cannot tell the half,
Dry blood and twisted steel,
Smiling children in a charred photograph.
Black stained walls,
A fragile heart torn open,
Red lights flash,
Underfoot the glass is broken.
I've seen a thousand faces,
Painted in my dreams,
Happiness and joy,
And sorrow mixed with screams.
There is a picture un-paintable,
It hangs by a nail in my soul,
Every brush stroke another tale,
Pictures pens have never told.

7yA lot said in only a few words. Years of service can do that. Thankyou for that, not enough people know what we see and what it does to us inside. Retired 26 years of service. I still miss it, unable to explain it too anyone, it becomes a part of who we are....well done !! 🚒
