Pioneer Of Wheel Chair Tennis got India its first Paralympics Champion
Boniface Prabhu was born to a middle-class family in Bangalore. At the age of 4, his life took a massive turn. An incident happened made him a quadriplegic for the rest of his life. He completed his 10th grade and took up Diploma in Computers. From the early age, he used to play many kinds of sports like Football, Cricket, and Hockey etc. Boniface started off his sports journey with Javelin and then shot put, carom and discuss throw. In Dharwad region, Karnataka was the nationals going on. He borrowed a wheelchair from the friends who came from other parts of the world. This was the first time when he sat in a wheelchair. Boniface won Bronze in 6 kilos shot put and a Gold in Carrom. After Winning many tournaments he was finally selected for the world games. He was the pioneer of Paralympics in Stoke Mandeville. After participating in the World Wheelchair Athletic games he started off with tennis as his career. Tennis made him won 11 titles and he was the finalist in all of the top Tennis games all around the world. Boniface always believed in chasing the dreams.
