"Poisoned chalice",State Owned Entities will find it difficult to attract talent at some point
Whether you believe what SAA says or you believe in the two now-fired Execs, we cannot deny that our SOE's will struggle to get talent and educated people to be in their Boards. It takes just a few 'days' to be suspended and get your whole hard work and career destroyed. One can think of the Eskom CEO ( Tshediso Matona) who was suspended within a few weeks of taking the reigns.
Without prejudging or taking sides, I am convinced that a few people standing on the sidelines right now and being asked to sign nomination letters to be on these Boards, will decline off-hand.
Something is really broken in these SOE's. Either, the people being attracted to work there are bad ( which I REFUSE to believe) or the Boards take advantage of any new execs joining so they become fall guys ( aka 'scape goats')- which looks more plausible and sensible- for the rot that already exist
Whatever it is, these SOE's are turning out to be 'poisoned chalices"

6yGreat point you’re raising there Maphosa! I concur - it now appears that signing that ‘nomination form’ you’re literally handing yourself over to the wolves! BUT, we cannot tire - the flag🇿🇦 needs us more than ever before! #ThumaMina
