Poor onboarding experiences for one-third of new hires?

Do one-third of new hires really experience a poor onboarding experience, as recently concluded by Enboarder and reported by Staffing Industry Analysts? They also concluded that "a quarter of respondents actually left their positions" and "only 26% of employees said they felt fully informed, engaged and confident during their most recent onboarding".

We should always take survey results by parties with skin in the game with a pinch of salt, but there's no doubt onboarding is important. Few people disagree with the received wisdom that first impressions count.

A 30-60-90 day onboarding plan with some onboarding or coaching sessions delivered by your team's cultural architect would be a great start.
