Chicago STEM Pathways Cooperative

The Chicago STEM Pathways Cooperative is revolutionizing STEM education across the greater Chicago area through data-driven collaboration. By conducting comprehensive landscape surveys and leveraging partnerships with key stakeholders, The Co-op addresses critical issues in STEM education such as inequities in access and underrepresentation. Their innovative approach focuses on unifying the ecosystem while creating inclusive opportunities for students of all ages.

Report Release Webinar: Scaling & Sustaining Pre-K-12 STEM Education Innovations | National Academies

The Board on Science Education is pleased to announce the release of the congressionally-mandated report Scaling and Sustaining Pre-K-12 STEM Education Innovations: Systemic Challenges, Systemic Responses.  Please join Dr. Christine M. Massey, the study chair, and committee members Kara Jackson and Christine Cunningham for an overview of the report and a discussion of the conclusions and recommendations.

NSF Advances 71 Teams in Regional Innovation Engines Competition | National Science Foundation

The National Science Foundation has selected 71 teams from nearly every U.S. state and territory to advance to the next stage of its Regional Innovation Engines competition. This program, part of the CHIPS and Science Act of 2022, aims to accelerate technology development and economic growth across diverse regions of the country. The selected teams represent a broad range of organizations, including those from underrepresented areas in NSF funding, and will submit full proposals by February 2025 for potential funding to build regional innovation ecosystems.

Afterschool Alliance is looking to ensure that their advocacy efforts and policy recommendations are informed by the field. 2025 Legislative Prep Session: Education Challenges and Solutions | Learning Policy Institute

The Learning Policy Institute, in collaboration with key education organizations, is hosting a webinar series to prepare policymakers for the 2025 legislative session. This series will address critical education challenges including teacher workforce retention, student re-engagement, and education funding issues. Participants can register for individual sessions or the entire series to gain insights into evidence-based state policy approaches and the latest research on pressing education topics. Community-based Heat Data Collection | NIHHIS

This program supports communities in addressing the challenge of extreme heat through community-based heat data collection campaigns. It aims to expand on the model developed for Heat Watch campaigns and broaden participation. The initiative provides technical support and funding for communities to develop and implement local heat monitoring projects, contributing to a better understanding of urban heat patterns.

Eligibility: Communities interested in addressing extreme heat challenges

Award Total: $10,000 stipend per selected community

Due Date for Submission: Expression of Interest due on November 1, 2024
