Poster: “An innovative approach for conducting 3D electrophysiological recordings within intact organoids”
In truth, our next issue wasn't supposed to drop until the fall, but given the opportunity to share some scintillating science, we had to publish a special issue. 😉
Here at Harvard Bioscience , we’re coming off the heels of this summer’s Federation of European Neuroscience Societies - FENS (FENS) that took place June 25-29 in Vienna, and International Society for Stem Cell Research (ISSCR) that happend in Hamburg, Germany from July 10-13. Both meetings were invaluable for our teams since the opportunities to engage with innovators in neuroscience and stem cell research is front-and-center.
At both meetings, our partner, the NMI Natural and Medical Sciences Institute (NMI) presented a truly cutting-edge poster, which we’re thrilled to be able to share with you. The poster demonstrates how, when compared to classical planar MEAs, Mesh MEA allows for chronic recordings with minimal disruption to 3D tissue.
About the Poster
Organoids represent a unique experimental framework for studying human physiology and disease. However, limitations in readout platforms act as barriers to evolving organoid research.
Created and presented by our partner the NMI Natural and Medical Sciences Institute, this cutting-edge poster demonstrates how Mesh MEA is expected to contribute to a better understanding of electrophysiological activity in 3D in vitro models and advanced 3D models of human neurodevelopment and disease. Learn how using Mesh MEA allows for repeated long-term measurements within neural spheroids, organoids, and other 3D tissue models.
