The Power of Connection and Purpose: Reflections from the Eudemonia Summit
Did you know that strong social connections can extend your life expectancy by as much as 50%? Research shows that social relationships have a greater impact on healthspan than many lifestyle factors we consider essential, including diet and exercise. The recent Eudēmonia Summit delivered on that before I even stepped foot in West Palm Beach. The WhatsApp group was buzzing with passionate people already making plans to meet up and experience together all this weekend would have to offer... and it had a lot to offer.
Social Connection: The Ties That Bind
On the final day, Jillian Turecki spoke powerfully on how the quality of our relationships shapes our lives, calling relationships both the single most beneficial and potentially the single worst thing we can experience. This weekend, though, was all about the best. Connecting with like-minded individuals who lift you up and inspire you is one of the greatest gifts. Spending time with my friend and Alively co-founder Lou Zameryka reminded me of this, as did meeting phenomenal people who radiated positivity and wisdom—people like Kwadwo Kyeremanteng , Lauren Sambataro , Sam Cutler, Jacy Cunningham , Melanie Avalon , and Molly Van de Griend. This summit was about being with “your tribe,” the people who make you better, give you energy, and help you expand your thinking. It’s easy to see why our connections and purpose can be so transformative to our health and longevity.
Fitness: The Best Workout Event Imaginable
Eudemonia was unlike any conference I’ve attended. Fitness wasn’t just a topic; it was a hands-on experience. Kicking things off with Jillian Michaels was thrilling—she led a session for the first time in years, and the energy was electric. Working out multiple times with Don Saladino was a fantastic reminder of the importance of physical strength, especially as we age. The summit also featured Dr. Gabrielle Lyon and JJ Virgin , each emphasizing different fitness modalities and the critical role of muscle and mobility in our overall health. If one thing became clear, it’s that movement is non-negotiable, especially for longevity, and that consistency in strength training and mobility will serve us well as we age.
Nutrition: Whole Foods and Supplementation with the Experts
Mark Hyman, MD , Max Lugavere , Robynne Chutkan, MD , Dr. Mahmoud Ghannoum , Dariush Mozaffarian , and Dr. Gabrielle Lyon offered invaluable insights into nutrition, emphasizing the importance of eating whole foods and, in particular, getting enough protein. They discussed how diets rich in unprocessed foods can be a cornerstone of healthspan, fueling both our bodies and our brains. While whole foods are critical, the summit also reinforced the importance of supplementation for those nutritional gaps that even the best diets might leave open. The summit’s “Exposome” was an exciting place to learn about some innovative nutrition and supplement brands. For me what stood out were the advanced options for improving cellular energy and function from companies like Stemregen , resbiotic by C. Vivek Lal, MD, FAAP , fatty15 , and MitoPure by Timeline® . Cutting edge hydration options from Kaizen, Qualia Life Sciences , BIOGENA ONE , AG1 , and OHP Health. Also the overall culinary deliciousness from brands like Big Bold Health , Kroma Wellness , Active FiberShake USA Inc , Everyday Dose , Blueprint , and Puori , and my go to skin care favorite, OneSkin . These are all supplements you and your body crave, not just need... It was a great reminder of how balanced nutrition and high-quality supplements work hand-in-hand to support our health goals.

Sleep and Recovery: Treatments That Revolutionize Restoration
The Eudemonia Summit wasn’t just about intense workouts—it was also about balancing that intensity with ample recovery. We had an incredible “Treatment” area that featured contrast therapy, which I experienced thanks to Therasage Premier Infrared Products , a PEMF table from Pulse PEMF , a Shiftwave Nervous System Reset, and even a hyperbaric chamber plus red light therapy session, courtesy of Zayd Ratansi . If all that wasn't enough, The Biohack Lab brought a full complement of additional tools including compression boots, Brain Tap, full body lymphatic massage, and more. Seeing firsthand how these treatments affected my body was eye-opening. My WHOOP reported above-average recovery each night, despite the extra activity. The summit’s focus on sleep and recovery underscored how crucial it is to give our bodies time to repair, especially in our busy lives.
Mindset and Stress Management: Finding Calm Amid the Action
With back-to-back sessions and a packed schedule, you’d think the summit would feel overwhelming. But it wasn’t. From the start, there was a unique focus on mental clarity and stress relief. We kicked off with a meditation session led by Dan Harris , Sebene Selassie, and Jeff Warren , setting a calm tone that continued throughout the weekend. I joined in yoga classes and took part in breathwork led by Amanda Laine of Othership . Starting each day with intentional practices made it feel like a journey of reflection, not just information gathering. Notably, Andrew Huberman and Dr. Gabrielle Lyon shared compelling insights on how physical health and mindset are interconnected, reminding us that both must be cultivated together.
A Commitment to Return
Oh and that WhatsApp group? The social connection hasn’t abated just because this year’s Eudemonia is over. With Sean Hoess having already booked the venue for the next several years, people are forming groups in their own cities to stay connected and share their healthspan journey together at home until the next time we all commune for a Weekend Well Lived at Eudemonia 2025. It turns out that health isn’t something we can achieve alone; it’s a collective journey. See you next year, Eudemonia tribe!
