The Power of Professional Networks
Navigate rapid changes in the world of work with recruitment market insights across Switzerland, the Netherlands, and the Nordics.
At EMEA Recruitment, the professional networks we develop provide the foundation for everything we do; creating and championing strong relationships to advance your ambitions.
Through a year-round programme of events, we host, sponsor and provide keynote speakers, connecting like-minded professionals and staying abreast of the trends affecting candidates and hiring organisations across the region.
This month, I’m excited to share details of our recent events, as well as upcoming networking opportunities within EMEA’s key focus industries:
Finance & Accountancy
Last month our Nordics division hosted a CFO Roundtable, bringing together leaders from well-known Swedish companies. Emphasising the importance of networking at all career stages, it was a wonderful forum for ideas exchange and our guests each made new connections.
For Finance & Accountancy professionals based in the Netherlands, on April 18th in Amsterdam Richard Bailey , EMEA Recruitment Managing Director, will be presenting at the annual Conference of the IMA | Institute of Management Accountants , with whom EMEA has been an exclusive European partner since 2020.
This annual event brings together industry leaders to discuss the future of Finance, encompassing subjects including ESG, Talent Retention, Data & Financial Decision-Making among others.
Overall, the conference on April 18th presents an opportunity to gain invaluable market insights and network with peers. Whilst IMA members will have already received their invitations, non-members can avail of complementary access when applying to join. More details here.
Procurement & Supply Chain
On 29th January, our Procurement & Supply Chain team hosted a webinar in partnership with CIPS - The Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply , showcasing proprietary tools from each organisation that enable professionals within the industry to identify actionable steps to advance their career.
Participants joined break-out groups each led by a senior Procurement professional to delve into an insightful discussion on career move enablement, such as leveraging the power of both networking and finding a mentor. Contact Charlotte Cruise to be notified of future Procurement events.

Last year EMEA Recruitment became an official sponsor of the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP) Roundtable – an organisation dedicated to providing networking, skills development, and education for Supply Chain Management and Logistics professionals in Switzerland.
We’ve been proud to share a stage with CSCMP on many occasions over the years and are looking forward to forthcoming event ‘Transformation Excellence - from efficiency towards value creation in Supply Chain’, an in-person event scheduled to take place Thursday 21st March in Zug. The line-up of speakers will be announced in the coming days, with more details and tickets available from the event page.
Human Resources
Hein J.M. Knaapen , Managing Director at CEO.works and former CHRO at ING Bank, joined us for a virtual Q&A exploring the impact of HR on company performance. The webinar touched upon value creation, advice for those moving into their first CHRO role, impactful succession planning and the growing importance of people analytics.
The event was well attended, and a variety of excellent questions steered Hein to share his invaluable guidance on subjects of particular interest. Thanks to all who joined!

For senior HR professionals based in Switzerland, our Consultant Drew Larcombe is hosting an apéro in central Basel on Wednesday 13th March. The location has now been confirmed; HR professionals in Switzerland wishing to attend are welcome to contact Drew: drew.larcombe@emearecruitment.com
Events provide an array of opportunities to create and foster relationships, exchange ideas and experience and develop professionally while unlocking future opportunities. For in-person networking in particular, I recommend defining in advance what you want to gain from attending.
As ever, if you have questions about the events mentioned here, past or future, contact me via LinkedIn or email me at paul.toms@emearecruitment.com
I’ll be happy to assist or connect you with the relevant team member.
Impressive insights on leveraging professional networks for recruitment; looking forward to learning more about the opportunities in these dynamic regions!
