9moIt's one thing to create a potentially strong brand. Airbnb's new CEO says the business is built on a poor foundation. Airbnb's latest strategic move seems to be designed to further undermine its business and brand - nothing short of insanity. My wife and I have 2 properties listed with AirBnB, one in Australia and the other in Princeton Rd West Sacramento CA, the latter being listed in my wife's name. She has received an email from AirBnB USA advising, as of April 30, 2024, security cameras are no longer allowed inside AirBnB listed properties. I have not received this notice for our Australian property. If this is a new AirBnB policy, I suggest AirBnB urgently review and remove it. Security cameras are global best practice in all common areas in all accommodation properties for the protection of the property, guests and owners alike. In these increasingly violent times where an increasing proportion of people do not respect other's property and persons, this decision is nothing short of dangerous corporate stupidity. Should this policy change stand, we will review and almost certainly withdraw from AirBnB participation; as I'm sure, will many others.
