Powering the Future with “Solar-Storage-Smart EV Solutions”

  • Background:

Today, electric vehicles (EVs), known for their advanced technology and lower travel costs, are increasingly visible in urban and rural areas. Their growing popularity heightens the demand for more efficient and higher-quality energy utilization, requiring comprehensive and precise energy monitoring.

 

  • Challenges:

 In March of this year, Fujian Province introduced incentive policies of “Guidelines for the Construction and Management of ‘Solar-Storage-Charging-Inspection’ Infrastructure” to promote energy storage development and address the rising demand for EV charging. The “Solar-Storage-Charging-Inspection” concept integrates photovoltaic (PV) systems, energy storage batteries, EV charging systems, online battery inspection systems, and intelligent energy management systems (EMS) into a unified solution. The project also includes complementary facilities such as PV carport canopies, lounges, restrooms, convenience stores, and outdoor signage, enhancing sustainable living for residents.

 

  • Solution:

 For this project, POWEROAD provided an economical and efficient energy solution featuring four FLEX 215 All-In-One Air Cooling Outdoor Cabinet ESS with a total capacity of 802.8kWh. Each cabinet, equipped with 100kW/200.7kWh capacity, offers high safety standards. The system leverages PV and electrochemical energy storage technology, allowing solar energy to directly charge EVs during the day while surplus energy charges the storage system. During peak demand or nighttime, the energy storage system powers the charging stations, reducing electricity costs and external grid dependency while maximizing clean energy utilization.

• The PV + energy storage system leverages time-of-use electricity pricing to lower costs.

• Offers competitive electricity rates for charging users, attracting more traffic.

• Enables multi-energy integration, creating new business models and revenue streams for operators.

 

2. Intelligent Cloud Platform Integration:

• POWEROAD’s Cloud Platform combines visualized maintenance, data analysis, and refined management.

• Features real-time monitoring, proactive strategy adjustments, and cell balancing to enhance battery performance.

• Provides millisecond-level monitoring of voltage, temperature, and other data for each cell, issuing warnings 30 minutes in advance of potential issues.

 

3. Plug-and-Play Installation:

• Integrated modular design ensures factory prefabrication, testing, and simplified on-site installation, drastically reducing project timelines.

 

As one of Fujian Province’s first integrated demonstration stations, this project serves as a model for achieving a “zero-carbon park” and advancing the transition to green, low-carbon energy. With 16 charging stations supporting up to 32 EVs at a time, it alleviates charging anxieties while safeguarding battery health.

By integrating cutting-edge technologies like PV, energy storage, EV charging, and battery inspection, the project fosters cross-sector collaboration, drives innovation in the renewable energy field, and optimizes industrial chains. Ultimately, it unlocks new economic growth opportunities for the local community.
