Praxis Center Launches Interim Simulation Space to Kickstart Critical Training Programs
While plans for the permanent Praxis Center continue to develop in Uptown Butte, the Praxis team is excited to announce the opening of a state-of-the-art interim simulation space designed to support healthcare providers and first responders across Montana and beyond. This step allows Praxis to begin rolling out essential curriculum while the permanent facility is being finalized.
The interim space, located on Porphyry Street, features three fully equipped clinical rooms designed to mimic real-world acute care environments such as an ICU, Emergency Department, or Labor & Delivery unit, along with two debriefing rooms to facilitate post-simulation discussions and learning. These spaces reflect the commitment of the Praxis team to provide high-quality, hands-on simulation training for rural healthcare providers and first responders.
With this interim facility in place, Praxis will begin offering critical training programs in 2025, including:
- Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS)
- Stop the Bleed
- OB Emergency Training for Rural Providers
- First Responder Training
- Simulation Education Programs for healthcare simulation professionals
This development marks a significant milestone for the Praxis Center’s mission to improve healthcare outcomes, particularly in rural and underserved communities.
“We are proud to provide these much-needed programs now, even as we continue working toward the completion of our permanent home in Uptown Butte,” - Ray Rogers, Praxis CEO.

Through this temporary facility, Praxis is poised to deliver immediate impact while laying the foundation for a long-lasting legacy of innovation and excellence in healthcare training.
Progress Update: Moving Buildings and Honoring Butte’s Heritage
Exciting progress is underway as we prepare the property for the Praxis Center in Uptown Butte. The complex work of relocating the two existing structures—a former Pizza Hut and an old service station—is nearly complete.
The Pizza Hut is close to full disassembly after months of careful planning and preservation work. Its relocation has been particularly intricate due to the need to preserve key structural elements. This building will find its new home as part of a private workshop, continuing Montana’s strong tradition of recycling and upcycling.
Simultaneously, the old service station has seen significant progress. With exterior features now removed, the main structure is prepped and ready for crane relocation in the coming weeks. Once moved, this building is set to begin a new chapter in Billings, MT, where it will transform into a charming ice cream shop, breathing new life into a beloved structure.
The relocation of these two non-historic buildings is a key milestone for the Praxis Center project. Their removal will make way for our future state-of-the-art facility.
Stay tuned for more updates as we continue this journey, transforming our vision into reality while honoring Butte’s past and investing in its future.
