Project MedSelfEd creating NFTs for PreOp®

After a summer of YouTube tutorials, 3rd party application help files, chat sessions, and in-depth application emulations, this newbie is ready to share. Share my growing NFT knowledge and our first minted PreOp®NFT. Since I am more of a show and tell person, I am revealing my MindNode diagrams of how NFT, Wallets, the Blockchain, and NFT Marketplaces all fit together. Join me in a series on the Interplanetary File System (IPFS) - Blockchain - NFT.

General Image of the World of NFT

I know you never used PirateBay to download copyright Hollywood movies, but why can't our governments stop the practice? Because PriateBay never had movies on its servers, PirateBay only stores addresses to BitTorrent, a peer-to-peer community of users sharing cached segments of 10,000s of movies. As a result, millions of members participate worldwide in BitTorrent.

BitTorrent launched in 2001 and, despite not being blockchain-based, has long been a pioneer in decentralized technology due to its peer-to-peer architecture.

  1. Choose a movie on a Torrent Browser (PirateBay)*
  2. Click on the movie address (it opens BitTorrent)
  3. Wait (depending on your internet speed (10 minutes - 10 days for your download)

Watch the movie, delete it, and walk away Scott Free, who lost millions of licensing dollars. *Be aware your host provider is watching; yeah, use a VPN, but... on goes the dance.

In blockchain storage, files are first broken apart in a process called sharding. Then, each shard is copied to prevent data loss should an error occur during transmission. The files are also encrypted with a private key that makes it impossible to view them by other network nodes.

Creating NFT

Artwork to NFT on the Blockchain searched in a MarketPlace

  • Create your "Artwork," which can be anything from Bored Apes to your favorite photos or Grama's Chicken Soup recipe.
  • Several pieces of artwork become a "Collection."
  • "NFT Generators" are apps; you upload your collection, and (free/fee) they hold your hand through the rough seas. "No Coding" required!
  • 1st Transformation: NFT Genertaores "Build Assets & Meta Data" They automatically generate metadata compatible with Ethereum/Polygon & Solana Blockchain.
  • 2nd Transformation "Uploads to IPFS" (Interplanetary File System) IPFS allows users to host and receive content like BitTorrent. As opposed to a centrally located server (Facebook, Twitter, Google, Apple, etc.) IPFS is built around a decentralized system of user-operators who hold a portion of the overall data, creating resilient file storage and sharing system. - A Blockchain event
  • Creates "Smart Contract"  This phase does require interaction with a couple of forms: name of the collection, blockchain network - (stick with Polygon at first), and website address. Smart Contract Management (how many units of artwork, Mint price, Sale Royalties %, and Sale is open/closed, ending with NFT Revealed. - A Blockchain event
  • 3rd Transformation "Site for Minting" - This is where you are given a webpage from your NFT Generator app to mint your artwork. You pay the Mint price installed in the Smart contract (keep that value low 5-10 MATIC = $5-10 per art piece. - A Blockchain event
  • Marketplace  OpenSea or Rarible, search for your Collection or NFT unique name in the "Smart Contract." FYI It may take up to 7 days to be available.

NFT Wallets

Digital Wallets - Surfing the Blockchain

I trust that you have an iPhone or Androde Phone; like it or not, you have a digital wallet connected to your bank/credit card(s). Not a giant leap to create a crypto wallet connected to your bank/credit card(s). Geez, Apple and major credit card companies already offer protected card services for crypto wallets. Jeepers, most of the continent of Africa, has leapfrogged their banking systems and commerce in person-to-person financial transactions.

Let me suggest that you can not participate in anything we have discussed without a digital wallet like MetaMask or Coinbase Wallet.

And Coinbase is a Public Company, and parts of its service are FDIC.

Once your digital wallet is in place, transfer some dollars USD from your card/bank and buy some Ethereum (ETH) and Polygon (MATIC), then buy something on OpenSea... try this artwork from PreOp®.

Surfing the NFT Market

Remember... who needs a web address, more than one email, eBay, Amazon?

Once you get hooked, you can browse the NFT marketplaces through your web browser, mobile devices, and more… Set alarms on your watch for when your price offered NFT is accepted or one of your NFTs is sold. What Joy!

  • "OpenSea" is the market leader, yet Rarible is right behind. Eventually, there will be marketplaces specializing in fine arts, cars, baseball cards, etc.
  • Find a collection and peruse through their NFTs. Our limited yet growing PreOp® Collection is available today. And we have more PreOp® Collections on Rarible.
  • The Collection, click on the individual NFT; you see all sorts of information

PreOp® NFT RoadMap

PreOp® RoadMap

There are three essential pillars in an NFT Project:

  1. Great Artwork or content
  2. Community (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, other)
  3. RoadMap

I know that PreOp® images and videos are outstanding as we have communities of over 350,000 subscribers and, on average, receive 2.5 million monthly views. So let me introduce next month's Newsletter, our PreOp® NFT RoadMap.

The Roadmap of an NFT project is crucial in building trust in owning PreOp® NFTs. Our mission purpose is to fund reviews of the present PreOp® procedures for accuracy, produce new titles for PreOp® Surgery & PostCare Discharge, and our ongoing NFT Management.

CMTv Productions produces all the content for MedSelfEd, Inc., owner, and publisher of PreOp® and PostCare™. We aim to direct revenue for CMTv productions as part of our mission and offer opportunities to our Boston production community, medical writers, illustrators, and graphic artists.

Thank you for reading our LinkedIn Newsletter, and I hope you have a chance to participate in web3.0 and the world of NFTs. - Johnny
