President Biden issues US Executive Order on Artificial Intelligence

US President Biden has issued a pivotal Executive Order setting rules on artificial intelligence (AI) in a rush to regulate it that is exponentially getting pace.

Aimed at establishing the United States as a vanguard in innovating and governing AI technologies, the executive order outlines comprehensive standards for ensuring AI safety, security, and trustworthiness.  It amplifies a commitment to safeguarding Americans' privacy, championing equity and civil rights, fortifying consumers and workers’ protections, and fostering an environment conducive to innovation and competition. This strategy aspires to seamlessly integrate AI advancements within societal frameworks, emphasizing ethical considerations and promoting an equitable technological future.

This Executive Order covers a multitude strategic initiatives designed to navigate the complexities of AI's evolving capabilities. The US Government's strategy appears aligned to the EU's strategy with the AI Act even though the AI Act has a broader scope and is more detailed.
