Milano, Italy - April 9, 2024

Truesense, a leading company on Edge AI and SW algorithms combined with UWB ranging and radar sensors, announced that has released a first implementation of its latest Tiny-ML NN Algorithms and data-set implementing a dynamic detection of the breathing amp; apnea status of a person.

NXP® Semiconductors will show the Truesense-platform at Embedded World, Nuremberg Convention Center, from the 9th to the 11th of April 2024 (NXP booth 4A-222).

In summary Truesense will show its TinyML algorithms running on the edge for detection of apnea situations and immediate “warning” in case of abnormal breathing of the person.

Moreover detection of presence/absence and monitor analysis of routine behaviors, for uses cases targeting: healthcare monitoring, security &safety, and Smart home & industrial applications This showcase anticipates a first step of the upcoming module family of Truesense that will run Software applications, algorithms and datasets for ranging and radar applications.

This will be added to the product lineup that includes already UWB Development Kits, equipped with on-board NXP QN9090 (with BLE5.0), NXP EdgeLock® SE051 secure element, G-sensor, and DCU150/040 plug-ins. The DCU040 and DCU150 modules (*) are based on NXP's Trimension® UWB ranging and radar devices, using PCB Antenna designs, clock, filters, and peripheral components. Truesense also offers a stand-alone T-TAG programmable Dev Kit based on NXP's Trimension UWB devices and other on-board sensors. All as companion to the main Software SDK with implemented uses case, plus iOS and Android APP source code.

Truesense CEO, Dr. Armando Caltabiano, said, "We are extremely proud to disclose the fantastic result of our Software team, jointly with the Politecnico of Milano, by launch this new series of applications that will have a major positive impact in the lives of those living alone.”

Dr. Olivier Belicourt, Senior Director, Sales at NXP, said “This collaboration with Truesense will enable them with advanced UWB capabilities from NXP's portfolio of Trimension Ultra-Wideband products. Such features are key, along with the Tiny-ML NN algorithms developed by Truesense, to address use cases such as presence detection, vital signs monitoring and analysis of routine behaviors."
