🗨️ What or who inspires you as a professional?

Olena: My husband inspires me with his striving for perfection in tasks. He is always aware of what's new and how to proceed with every challenging case.

Also, I feel inspired by Evgeny Buriak, who is the most responsible and dedicated manager I ever met. He never says 'Impossible', 'I'm tired of something', or ‘I do not have enough time for something.’ For many years, he has been the main engine, the top battery that charges everyone in the office.

🗨️ How does it feel to be a woman engineer on a team that mostly consists of males?

Olena: I was studying one of those courses at University where there are very few girls in a group. And many smart guys were more technical than me.

That pushed me to move on, develop and prove to myself that I am worth something and able to achieve smart goals. A long time passed. And now I am happy to be a part of Global Mediator where I do not feel like a girl in a man's world, I feel like being part of a strong team where nobody competes but everyone encourages and supports each other with the main goal - to create an excellent product.

🗨️ A piece of advice you would pass on to ladies considering a career in engineering?

Olena: Recognizing one's own value is a challenging task for many women. Even if we know that we have certain abilities women often underestimate their skills.

However, IT engineering is the area where a lot of young, progressive, open-minded, smart, and cool people are involved. This is the territory where you may feel like a surfer on a wave of innovative technologies.

It is a dynamically evolving industry that opens many doors for different competencies. So, I think girls should try IT and I am almost sure that they will enjoy it.
