On Psychocinematics | VOICES IN SLOW MODE
How a horror movie or a romantic comedy film shape our cognition, behaviour, and emotions? How movies keep us intrigued? How do they engage our sensations, thoughts, and feelings?
As many film makers do, when producing Life Is A Cultural Thread, my aim was to apply techniques that aim to capture our senses and feelings to provoke critical thought on the topic of circular textiles. That is a goal in psychocinematics.
Research material on exploring cognition in films is limited. Psychocinematics offer an opportunity to consider movie experiences to probe scientific perspectives connecting our minds to our brains. Mind referring to our ability to think, feel, and engage in physical activities. The brain, on the other hand, is an considered to be a physical thing. In short, the mind is mental and spiritual while the brain is the physical organ in our head that supports the mind functions.
When we watch a movie, are we the mind or the brain? Why is important to exercise genuine emotions in visual storytelling?
Join us! a bunch of makers and creators on April 6 and 7 in DEMO DAYS in the ❤️ of the city in Eindhoven. You will experience Life Is A Cultural Thread in a unique exclusive screening for the event! Your ‘voice’ will help further understanding on the psychological and biological underpinnings in audiovisual experiences that combine both, part storytelling and part real diverse sociocultural phenomena.
🗣️What else I'm talking about…
