PTV software: New versions, new icon design

Mobility is all about movement - and we are not one to stand still!

Although we have been shaping mobility with our solutions for over 45 years, we are always on the lookout for new technologies, products, and ideas with which our customers can master their challenges.

By joining forces with Econolite , our Umovity portfolio has grown into a comprehensive periodic table full of synergies and integrated power.

To reflect this huge step forward, we've given our product icons a complete makeover!

You can take a closer look at them now on our website or wait until the next product release on October 17, when they will appear on your desktop.

With the release of the 2025 versions of PTV Visum, Vissim, Viswalk, Vistro, and our SaaS solutions, the new software icons, upon the installation of the latest service pack, will automatically replace the old icons – and that everywhere: on the desktop, Windows start bar, within locally stored version files, and of course within the software.

PTV Accessibility Score for Real estate portals: convincing customers with location ratings

Location plays a key role in the search for a property. How well connected is it to public transport? Are there schools, restaurants or pharmacies nearby? How far is it to the nearest supermarket?

Enhance your real estate listings with comprehensive location information. This data is calculated and provided via an interface (API) from PTV Access, which you can integrate directly into your system.

By integrating our data interface, you can provide mobility and location information for each listing on your website. Your customers receive details that help them find suitable offers more quickly. Plus, you can set yourself apart from your competitors with a better offer.

An exemplary implementation showcases how this index can filter real estate listings based on users' preferred destinations and transportation methods. This innovative API enables users to find properties that perfectly align with their daily mobility needs. Additionally, a strong accessibility index, indicative of a central location, significantly enhances a property's value. Therefore, the location of a property remains a vital and unchangeable factor.

This showcase is fully functional, just click on one of the listings to find out more about the individual accessibility score of each property.

PTV Vissim simulations help revive historic city center

Traffic calming measures – how can cities do them correctly? A lot of cities around the globe face the challenge of managing high traffic flows, particularly if they attract high volume of tourists. Here’s one example of how Nakło nad Notecią, a picturesque town in northern Poland, tried to cope with this challenge. Despite the introduction of a bypass, congestion persists, negatively impacting the lives of residents and the town’s appeal to visitors. To address this problem, Nakło turned to the advanced simulation capabilities of PTV Vissim software.

Read more about what challenges have been faced throughout the project, the methodology used, and the impressive results achieved through the implementation of traffic calming measures.
