New Year, New People

Business Travel Consultant, Ellie Lammiman, recently joined a panel hosted by the BTA (Business Travel Association) discussing ‘New Year, New People’ which focussed on recruitment and attracting new talent to the business travel industry.

Ellie gave her perspective on what attracted her to the industry, how she was supported in her development on the apprenticeship scheme at Good Travel Management, and what can be done to make sure that the industry engages with new talent through new mediums and ideas.

CBI Report: Understanding the benefits of business travel and in-person meetings

With the post-pandemic economic recovery well underway, The BTA commissioned a report from the CBI (Confederation of British Industry)’s Economics team on Understanding the benefits of business travel and in-person meetings on the UK economy.

This report offers insights on the importance for businesses to:

• Resume in-person meetings
• Balanced with hybrid working
• Highlights the demand for in-person collaboration as an important economic catalyst.

A Day to Make a Difference   

All employees at the John Good Group get an additional day off a year dedicated to volunteering! Our Sales Support Consultant, Jade ventured out of the office to join a group of other volunteers from around the business to make up seed bags at Spurn Point which will be planted to regenerate new seagrass meadows, vital not only to provide a food source for wildlife, sand dune stability and water filtration - but it is also a natural carbon capture method that will help in the fight against climate change.

Jade commented on the day: “It was a great day spent with wonderful people. I learnt a lot from the guys at Yorkshire Wildlife Trust Spurn Point and I think they deserve more recognition. I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better day and hope to volunteer there again. I think volunteering is so important because it gives us the chance to help others, learn about things we maybe didn’t know more about, and make a difference.”
