Q1 Review
Q2 has well and truly kicked off at Excel TM Group and after an incredibly busy start to the year, there seems to be no sign of slowing down!
Taking time to reflect is equally important as planning, whether you are reflecting on what worked or what didn’t – you can’t plan ahead without reviewing your success or failures.
For me, in order to plan the start of 2023, I had to look at 12 months ago when we were against the ropes and didn’t know how we would bounce back.
We started 2023 with a bang!
Addressing The Taboos of Telemarketing – the UK’s First Construction Telemarketing CPD.
Towards the back end of last year, our Business Development Manager George Sayers asked me why no one else in our industry had ever come up with their own CPD. I would be lying if I told you that I had an answer, I genuinely didn’t!
The fact is, Excel TM Group have scheduled thousands of CPD’s and generated millions of pounds of revenue for our clients. This has been done by challenging the status quo of telemarketing and focussing on delivering a quality approach, as opposed to just burning through data and filling diaries with rubbish.
Since launching the CPD in January, we have presented it to more than 40 different companies and the feedback has been nothing short of incredible, however like all things this gave us an idea of how we could delve further into the industry and disrupt it further.
The Introduction of a New Director
Since its launch in January 2020, Excel has been through a number of changes. Like all businesses, faces come and go but 2023 started with the introduction of a new face and one that was needed like no other, Sian Dunn officially joined the company as an active Director.
This was a huge moment for the company and the team at Excel, Sian decided to leave her career behind and help the team continue with its push to be the most efficient telemarketing provider in the industry.
New Website
It’s hard to believe that from September last year to March 2023 Excel didn’t have a website, yet during those 7 months we were able to generate more interest and more enquiries into our service than ever before.
Our new website went live on the 6th March and we were proud to introduce a new and unique feature which once again changed how prospects could enquire about our service. ‘Build Your Campaign’ was designed and implemented to ensure we knew exactly how we could help and it hasn’t disappointed!
We also improved our Meet the Team section of the site and allowed people to get to know our team and find out who had weird phobias, interesting facts and what words they would use to describe them.
Our new website also gave everyone the chance to find out what sectors we had worked in within construction, these included finance, technology and healthcare. This led to further enquiries and discussions on how we can help companies of all sizes, ranging from SME’s to global organisations.
Our First Quarterly Team Building Day
When we started the year, we vowed to find our identity again and make it fun!
This started when we decided to take the team on a team building day to The Cube in Manchester, the winning team being our Business Development team - George Sayers and Scott Cooper .
After all of the team’s hard work at the back end of 2022 it was the least we could do but more importantly it’s what the team deserved!
Excels Chosen Charity
Excel TM Group are proud to announce that Platform for Life are our chosen charity this year!
Platform for Life offers free local counselling and play therapy for families who would otherwise not be able to afford it and they are based locally in Chester.
Mental health is important to Excel and we wanted to support a charity close to home, so there was only one choice for us!

We have numerous funding ideas for the year, but the main event will be the Excel TM Group charity fun day, where all proceeds will be donated to Platform for Life.
In February, we announced the launch of our new business – Excel PA Services, something we were extremely excited about and more importantly passionate about implementing.
Excel PA Services specialises in providing the construction sector and built environment with a quality driven outsourced Telephone Answering Service.
This will mean that Excel as a group will not only be able to provide our clients with quality leads through Excel TM Group, but we will also assist them with taking their inbound calls and work as their “receptionists/PAs” as and when they require.

Futurebuild 2023
For the second year in a row, the team were proud to announce our partnership with Futurebuild and what an incredible show it was!
Last year we turned up with 3 roller banners, all of which had spelling mistakes. Hardly any planning and no idea what we were doing – it made the whole experience entertaining.
This year we had a completely different set up, completely different mindset and a far greater focus on what we were looking to achieve. For those that don’t know, Futurebuild is one of the UK’s most prestigious construction shows and we are delighted to say we are data partners with the event!
Start Up Awards – 2023 Finalists
For the second year in a row, Excel are proud to say that we have been nominated for the 2023 Start-Up awards!
This year, Excel have been shortlisted for Construction & Building Service Start-Up of the year!
To say we are proud is a huge understatement, but this is a true reflection of how hard the team have worked once again.

Elite Business – Top 100 Elite SME Businesses
E isn’t just for Excel anymore, it’s also for Elite.
As of January 2023, Excel became an official Elite Business TOP 100 SME 2023 Awards Winner!
Excel came in at number 60, an incredible placement and probably our proudest moment to date. This announcement makes everything we have discussed above all worthwhile and the team deserve every bit of praise for their contribution in getting us there!
All in all, our first quarter was one we will never forget and to top it off we achieved a 100% retention rate heading into Q2. This was on top of travelling over 6000 miles and meeting with over 40 new businesses.
Q2 has started off no different and something tells me that 2023 will continue to get bigger and better!
