🔶️ “Video Joint Embedding Predictive Architecture” (V-JEPA), just released by #META, is a step towards “#Advanced #Machine #Intelligence (#AMI).

🔶️ Since childhood, our understanding of the world comes from observation. Likewise, V-JEPA is designed to learn by predicting missing or masked parts of a #video in an abstract representation space.

🔶️ This “non-generative” model understands highly-detailed interactions between objects in a video, using #self-#supervised #learning. The model is pre-trained with unlabeled data, and labels are only used for specific tasks after pre-training.

🔶️ A key advantage is V-JEPA’s ability to discard unpredictable information. This improves #training by masking out a large portion of a video, and asking the model to fill in what’s missing.

🔴 #METAVERSE: #Wrist #Phone

🔶️ #Motorola, which invented the “brick” mobile phone decades ago and is now owned by Lenovo, has developed a bendable phone that you can wear on your wrist.

🔶️ The phone is “contextually aware” so it adapts depending on how it is bent. As the phone is wrapped around the wrist, that changes the info display, such that apps appear atop the screen.

🔶️ You also can use the phone to take a photo of your clothing, so that it generates a background to complement your outfit, thus making the phone a Metaverse fashion accessory.
