Quantity ordered cannot be reduced because there are not enough open inventory transactions with the ordered status

I recently ran into a situation where I couldn’t post a Return Sales Order (RMA) Packing Slip & I will describe in details & show errors that I faced.

The user made a register to the half of the quantity, this quantity became available in the On hand & They have been consumed in anther sales order.

I will illustrate First the Errors or the Issues that I have faced then I will Illustrate how I Solved it.

Issue: -

1-    When the user trying to do packing slip for this quantity the AX give this error.

3-    When I trying to cancel the Register the AX Show me this Error.

Solution: -

1-    I had checked the transaction for this RMA and have found that I have two lines, First line with “Registered” status and the second line with “ordered” Status.

2-    The line Status for the RMA is “Expected”.

3-    I have checked the Return lot ID to make sure that this RMA attached for which Original Sales Order.

4-    I fulfill the Batch and the license Pallet that have been consumed through transfer journal or WHS Movement.

5-    I have changed the status line for the RMA to “Register”.

6-    Cancelled the registered quantities, then do the register again for the whole quantity.

Reason: -

My point of view behind this issue that while the RMA processes maybe the AX is Shutting Down and maybe this severe action made a corrupted data or there’s no Roll Back for this Actions Specially I couldn’t reproduce this issue again.
