Rare Disease Day Encourages Us to Share the Journey Over

300 million people globally live with one of the more than 6,000 identified rare conditions, yet most of us may never encounter the challenges they face. The first step, an accurate diagnosis, may take many years of doctor visits and testing. Only then may they and their families consider participating in the research and development of treatments for their condition. Barriers to health and social care and opportunities to participate in work and social life continue to persist, and the effort to live their best lives can be overwhelming. The Rare communities (advocates, healthcare experts, researchers, and families) share these stories each year on Rare Disease Day and invites you to join them. Read more about living with a rare disease in our blog post and #ShowYourStripes on Rare Disease Day - February 28, 2021.
