Ready for #MEDICA2022 - Interview with Christian Grosser

We've set the countdown for MEDICA - Leading International Trade Fair and our Social Media Team met the Director MEDICA & COMPAMED Christian Grosser in advance for a quick interview.

#MEDICA2022: What trends will await us in the field of digitalization and sustainability?

"The digitalization of health care has been given a "boost" by the pandemic. Particularly mobile health applications and applications based on artificial intelligence are currently highly demanded. It can support doctors in diagnosis or the creation of therapy planners and is also used in relation to the billing of services. This all contributes to the implementation of smart processes that are resource-efficient. One example: using AI for medical diagnosis can optimize hospital interoperability. It does not always require medical staff around the clock and the expertise of remote radiology professionals can also be accessed via a teleradiology platform, day and night. Overall, the increased use of IT avoids duplicate examinations, in many cases transport routes and traffic, as well as a lot of paper and time. This and even more will be presented at MEDICA 2022."

What are your personal highlights at MEDICA 2022?

"I’m really looking forward to our new program highlight in hall 4. Here you can meet victorious Olympians on all days during the fair: Heike Henkel, Olympic champion in high jump, and Lars Riedel, Olympic champion in discus throwing, are in the focus at the MEDICA SPORTS HUB. With short lectures and small exercises, visitors can participate in topics like nutrition, team building and mental training. Lars Riedel, for example, plays golf passionately and as in discus throwing, it is all about the perfect rotation of the body. During MEDICA, he will show a special warm-up exercises which prepares the body for this rotation."

MEDICA in Düsseldorf - how important is the world's leading trade fair for medical technology for Düsseldorf as a business location?

"A look at the figures is enough: MEDICA and COMPAMED take place every year and more than 5,000 exhibiting companies from 70 nations come together. Last year, 46,000 trade visitors from 150 countries visit Messe Düsseldorf and get in exchange with the partners of the industry. When so many companies und people come to Düsseldorf, the whole city and region profits. So, it’s time for MEDICA 2022 – let’s meet in our halls."
