Real friends feel you deserve the world

How many real friends do you have who believe in you, defend you and always support you to get what you deserve in the world. Being a true friend means showing your friend that she/he did something wrong, help them to find their mistakes, and then encouraging to fix whatever they did wrongly. By doing this you’re actually defending your friend by protecting them from harming themselves further.

Like if your friend wants to jump off a tower then you will never tell them “Yes! You’re right! Do it! Go jump! I’ll support you!”. Instead, you’ll do all you can to stop them from doing so even if this means to hold their hands tightly and not leave them alone so that he will never try to even think of doing some stupid act like that again.

Sushil was my friend who wanted to save her drowning friend in running waters in river. Sushil told me that her friend was so scared, going up and down in the water and unable to focus on anything to be rescued. She was nervous and started to wave madly with her hands while Sushil was trying to pull her to the safety.

The woman was rather heavy and water current was very fast, the friend was about to drown, and even worse, was about to pull Sushil down with her because of her pointlessly aggressive body movements in the water, so Sushil finally decided to end her madness and gave her a tight slap on the face painfully to make her stop those crazy movements obstructing the rescue attempt. On getting the slap the friend calmed down a bit, and Sushil managed to pulled her out of the water; alive! Therefore at that time if Sushil had not acted wisely and hit the friend, he could not have saved the friend as well as himself.

The simple take away of this real story is that real friendship means being honest with you and save you even from your own self and also hitting the friend hard whenever it is needed so that both can be saved in time. If I keep on telling you that you’re right whatsoever you do, I will be cheating you as a true friend.

How can you improve yourself if you can’t see your mistakes, and the ones around you see it but don’t warn you? I believe that true friends are more closer than your family, so if you have good, true friends, the bigger mistakes you make, the harsher reactions you should expect from them so that you are saved from doing something stupid beyond repairs.

Another story to be remembered about true friendship is from Mahabharata. Karna even after having royal genes of Kunti, was raised by charioteer and wanted to be a great archer but the society never allowed him to be because of his lower caste and background of a son of charoteer. But Duryodhan saw talent in him and offered him 'Ang' rajya to rule. Feeling obliged to him, Karna offered Duryodhan his friendship.

They became great friends however Karna was present in the darbar, but never stopped Duryodhan from doing his wrong karma not even when he tried to disrobe Draupadi and raging war against Pandavas. At last, Karna was killed on the battleground by Arjuna on the back like an animal on the ground. Thus, a true friend is one who stays with you at your worse but not when you have done some worse. Rather he would help you to rectify your mistake by all possible means.

It is your karma whihc is going to get you, and if you’ve ever been trampled by karma, you know it’s not good for you. You show realise how much you care by being a strong voice of truth and conscience to advise the friend, then help your friend figure out the best way of taking his or her responsibility and righting the wrong in order to avoid the karma curse. If your friend won’t listen, and refuses to take responsibility, under no circumstances do anything to help them get away with it. But you need to educate him or her to follow his or her karma and act accordingly. True and Real friends are hard to get, therefore once you find one stand by him or her permanently. Stay blessed! #kishoreshintre
