despite the obvious logic cannot see this happening in my life time at least. What would be the price China and Russia charges not to veto this? Would that price be worth it? Certainly a restructuring of the UNSC would not only be Japan joining - India? Germany? The more you look at this the more likely obstacles arise. Does this expansion only work if ALL members of the UNSC giveup their veto rights? Again cannot see the series of compriomses made to allow this to happen. again despite the obvious logic.
