Reconfirm Your Commitment to Self
As we embrace this serene Sunday, it's a perfect moment to pause and ponder over the commitments we embraced at the dawn of the New Year. Remember that season imbued with abundance, hope, excitement, and a sense of unity? It’s time we revisited those New Year resolutions.
Reflect on the goals you set for yourself. Are you on track, or have you strayed from your path? Personally, I find myself 60% aligned with my commitments. The remaining 40%? Well, these are the aspects that don't come naturally to me, and I've allowed myself to neglect them. But here’s a thought – who wants to be just 60% committed to their own well-being and growth? I certainly don't, and neither should you.
Today, I urge you to join me in this exercise of introspection. What’s going right in your life? What needs more attention? Remember, the splendor of life is its perpetual offer of new beginnings – each day is a fresh opportunity to improve, to evolve into a more exceptional version of our already phenomenal selves.
Let’s address the elephant in the room – excuses. They are nothing but fabrications we tell ourselves. It's essential to celebrate our wins, no matter how small, but equally crucial to work on the segments we’ve neglected or shied away from.
For instance, I pledged to go live or create a video at least once a week. I did it just once. Like many, I am my own harshest critic, and to me, that first video was far from perfect. But, it’s vital to recognize that perfection is a journey, not a destination. The more we do, the better we become. Hence, I am committed to pushing forward with this effort.
Now, let’s talk about the harder truths – the commitments we find tough to stick to. For me, it's my eating habits and exercise routine. I confess, the allure of real butter, cheesy delights, and fried treats is hard to resist. The thought of vanilla ice cream melting over a freshly made peach cobbler, a succulent cowboy ribeye, or grandma’s baked cheesy macaroni – they are my kryptonite.

But today is not just another day. It’s a day to relax, rejuvenate, and most importantly, re-commit to ourselves. My intention for the week is clear – take it one day at a time, one week at a time, and gradually, month by month.
So, join me on this journey. Let’s not settle for being partially committed to ourselves. Let’s strive for 100% – not in the spirit of perfection, but in the pursuit of continual improvement and self-love.
Until next time, keep pushing forward, and remember – every day is a new chance to be a better you.
