Redefining Rest: Your Guide to Vibrant Energy After 50

[WATCH: Monday, December 23, at 12 PM EST on LinkedIn, "Beat Burnout: 7 Essential Rest Practices for Women Leaders" with special guest Dr. Saundra Dalton-Smith]

I want to share a story that changed my entire approach to well-being.

Years ago, on what should have been an ordinary workday, I sat down at my desk and couldn't move.

Despite the bright sunlight streaming through my window, everything felt heavy. I had just earned a historic promotion, was raising a family, leading community initiatives, and maintaining a packed calendar of meetings and appearances.

From the outside, I was thriving. Inside, I was depleted.

That moment became my turning point.

As women over 50, we've mastered the art of doing it all – career achievements, family responsibilities, community leadership. But at what cost?

I call it the SEO effect: Stressed, Exhausted, and Overwhelmed.

Sound familiar?

Recent research shows that women in their prime years often experience the highest levels of responsibility coupled with the lowest levels of rest. We care for aging parents, support adult children, lead organizations, and reimagine our next chapters—all while being expected to maintain boundless energy.

Through my recent conversation with Dr. Saundra Dalton-Smith, I discovered something revolutionary – there are seven distinct types of rest we need, and sleep is just one piece of the puzzle.

This isn't about slowing down or stepping back.

It's about strategically recharging to step more fully into our power.

Maybe you don't need more sleep; perhaps you need creative rest to spark innovation. Or social rest to counter the emotional labor of being everything to everyone.

After 50, we have the wisdom to know better and the power to do better. We've earned the right to rewrite the rules about rest and restoration.

Ready to discover which type of rest you need most?

Join me on LinkedIn on Monday at noon EST for an eye-opening conversation with Dr. Saundra Dalton-Smith. We'll explore all seven types of rest and share practical strategies.

This isn't just another self-care seminar—it's your guide to creating a vibrant new chapter fueled by genuine restoration.

Vibrantly,

Dr. Geneva
