Monday saw the finale of our Bright Sparks Enrichment Program for Bedford High School, in conjunction with Cisco. Year 9 pupils from a local school came to our Innovation Hub to present their business cases to our team of Experts, after 6 weeks of working closely together. We were very impressed with the final presentations and think there are several future Intrinsic employees amongst the students that took part! Thanks to all our executive sponsors and to David Beisly from Cisco for making the journey to be present with us on Monday.
Over the last 5 days, we have held an ISO awareness week in the office for staff to understand the importance of the ISO standards and what role we all have to play. The daily sessions were fun and informative, and there was even a quiz at the end - one lucky colleague Jason Shipman won a £50 Amazon voucher!
Preparations were just about completed for our stand at the Public Sector Show in a couple of weeks time, in conjunction with our partners Avaya and APD Comms. We have chosen the theme of the "Public Sector Marketplace" to demonstrate how easy we are to transact with and how we provide local, friendly service. Watch out for updates live from the ExCel on 28th June!
Avaya came in to see us this week to report back on the call out day we had last week and to plan the next one in just a few weeks time. We are pleased to be an Avaya Platinum Partner and enjoy working closely with many members of the Avaya team. Special thanks to Jo Devonald and Jenny Perkin for their support.
Wednesday was Intrinsic Lunch day, a day where all employees get together and enjoy a free lunch on us. This goes down really well, week in week out. We love to see staff from all areas of the business sitting down together and enjoying their lunch.
On Thursday, our Sales Leaders (Udaye Rana, Mark McLean, Rob Maunder and John Iandolo) met to discuss our plans for growth. They broke from their meeting to join the rest of the Intrinsic staff who enjoyed drinks and snacks whilst watching England v Wales in our Innovation Hub.
Every Friday in June, Martyn Beechall, our funny, friendly Desktop Support Engineer, is hosting "Beechall's Big Breakfast". He is cooking up a fantastic barbecue breakfast for staff to help raise money for our Byte Night Team in support of Action for Children.
Three members of staff visited a local primary school today to participate in their Careers Carousel and another three staff are due to visit a different school on Monday. We always take the opportunity to support the local community in any way we can.
All in all, another enjoyable week at Intrinsic. It's a busy, fun place to work and we are always on the lookout for new people to join the Intrinsic team.
