This year, the celebration went beyond simply acknowledging the profession—it sparked conversations about the evolving challenges and opportunities for project management professionals. The 2024 theme underscored the critical role project managers play in change. As organizations continue to face economic fluctuations, technological disruption, and evolving workforce dynamics, resilience has become the cornerstone of successful project delivery. Discussions throughout the day emphasized building adaptable teams, embracing thinking differently, and fostering a mindset ready for change.
The Hidden Power of Emotional Intelligence and Psychological Safety in Project Success

Years ago, I heard it said that if any one of us is the same as another then one of us is unnecessary; I’ve never forgotten it. However, despite acknowledging our differences, there are three things that we all have in common: 1. We are emotional beings; 2. We desire to belong to something, someone or both; 3. We need safe environments to be ourselves and give of ourselves – to live. These commonalities transcend where we are and what we do, emphasizing the need for the hidden powers of Emotional Intelligence (EI) and Psychological Safety to achieve success.
In the practice of project management, the focus is often placed on leadership to achieve success; however, leadership – no matter the style – is of little to no effect if the project manager has low EI and fosters psychologically unsafe environments. Therefore, to be successful, Psychological Safety and psychologically safe spaces must be in place to empower stakeholders to creatively take risks without reprisal; such environments will enable individuals to learn from mistakes made while pursuing project objectives, personal growth and fulfillment. EI plays an integral part in the cultivation of Psychological Safety.
The Future of IT Support: Expectations and Preparation, Perspectives from Banking, Financial Institutions, Media, and Gaming Sectors
As we step into an era where technological evolution continues at breakneck speed, the role of IT support is more essential now than ever before. However, with the emergence of AI and other innovative technologies we are seeing a dramatic shift in how digital services are delivered, secured, and optimised. As always, there is a persistent requirement for IT support and service delivery teams to be proactive, highly adaptive, and focused on continual improvement.
The Evolution of IT Support Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Automation In the coming years, IT support will lean heavily into AI-driven solutions and automation. Banking and financial institutions are already utilising AI to detect fraud, automate customer queries, and streamline internal operations. Similarly, AI-based game analytics and support bots are changing the landscape of gaming. IT support teams will need to adapt by mastering AI tools to provide faster, smarter, and more personalised solutions.
