Reflections from Davos

Reflections from Davos

Following an eventful and exciting World Economic Forum Annual Meeting last week in Davos, I am reflecting on a few key takeaways and moments:

Shared success is the future. A big theme from my conversations with other leaders is that enterprise transformation, fueled by digital and technology, is real – and that, in order to be competitive, every company needs to move with speed and scale. At the same time, there is a shared commitment among CEOs that transformation must happen in a way that benefits all—from companies and employees … to clients and ecosystem partners … to communities and broader society.

This is the decade to deliver. I am proud that Accenture has signed the UN Global Compact’s 1.5°C pledge, committing to set targets aligned with limiting global temperature rise to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels. We also launched SDG Ambition, our partnership with the UN Global Compact and SAP to challenge and support companies in integrating the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals into their core business. This is the decade for business to deliver on sustainability.

Elevating people is a true movement. One of my favorite moments in Davos was a panel Accenture hosted on making a difference through people and culture. It was inspiring to listen to other leaders talk about the real and tangible things they are doing—from inclusion and diversity initiatives to innovating at scale—to create workplaces where their people can thrive both personally and professionally. More than ever, I believe these actions are no longer an exception or an exploration, but a true movement.

Davos showcases the best of Accenture. Every year I come away from Davos with pride: in our Accenture delegation representing our more than 500,000 people around the world … in our incredible technology team … in the thought leadership we launch at Davos and the experts behind it … and in our fantastic Marketing & Communications team that helps us land our messages. Davos gives us a tremendous platform to demonstrate Accenture’s commitment to being a responsible business in everything we do.
