A strategic partner in energy management for major blue-chip companies with branches across the country has a vacancy for a Regional Manager that will report to the Operations Director in the region. This is an ideal opportunity for the successful candidate to join a highly motivated team and make a positive contribution to the region’s operations.

Reports to: Operations Director

Job titles of direct reports: Engineering Manager, Operations Engineer, Staff Supervisor, Regional administrator

Key external relationships: Clients

Primary Purpose: Team Management and client relations. The management of the region to maximise client satisfaction, growth and profitability through the effective allocation of human resources, training of personnel, financial discipline, monitoring of key boiler house metrics and maintenance schedules, marketing to existing and new clients, all in keeping within the prescribed and legislated health and safety standards.

Travel requirements: Rarely.


Job description / core competencies:


Production: The monitoring and proactive management of key metrics such as efficiencies, availability, critical commodities, and water treatment.

Maintenance: The planning, monitoring, administration, and financial management of the maintenance activities.

Client Relations: Delighting the client through ongoing relationship building by meeting and keeping the client regularly informed, accurate and on time reporting, dealing with site related issues speedily and looking for ways to increase the service offering.

Human Resources: The appointment, administration, performance monitoring, training, motivation and sanction of regional personnel and communication of same to head office.

Marketing: Regular feedback to Commercial Director on market information, leads obtained, proposals submitted, new business achieved and marketing to existing client base.

Financial: The administration and management of the region's financial health through regular monitoring of key metrics, administration of client and supplier invoices, proactive management of debtors and communicating same to the Financial Director.

Health & Safety: The management of region's H&S through the appointment and training of a representative SHE committee, ensuring site SOP's, SSOP's and SSRA's are documented, available and personnel are conversant with them, site SHE and boiler files are current and to SHE standard and that the sites and region are compliant with SHE standards.

Integrated Management System: The management of region's IMS through the appointment and training of an IMS committee, ensuring regular audits are conducted and findings proactively addressed, proper revision control of documents and control of records and region is compliant to ensure that ISO9001, ISO14001 AND OHSAS18001 are maintained.

Job Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

Mechanical or chemical: BSc

Experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.

Engineering experience, either mechanical or chemical/process.

Experience managing a team.

Strategically minded.

Demonstrates an ability to build relationship with clients.

Self-starter.
