I am sorry about your experience but that still is no excuse for you. Sounds like you’re in your feelings. Find a church home. I know they hurt you but you still have an obligation to obey scripture. Your pastor does have a point. We all come to God exactly as we are. But God loves you too much to leave you that way. Maybe your pastor failed to convey that to you. Being in the house of God commands a certain reverence. If the president of America invited you to dinner are you going to show up late? Are you going to wear any old thing out of your closet? Are you showing up at the White House in sweats & sneakers? Then how much more greater is God compared to the president? You are called to be set apart from the world. I don’t agree with everything you’re saying. I am so sorry that happened to you at your church home. I can only imagine what that has done to you. Allow me to interject. All churches are flawed in some way. They don’t have it 100% correct doctrinally and or everyone in the congregation is not 100% on board. Bottom line Bazzy Francis if you find the perfect church don’t join it. You’ll only screw it up. “So I want to encourage someone today, be you and be comfortable serving God in your own skin.” you say. I wouldn’t recommend that. Mat. 7:21-24 is a stern warning. God has a protocol. Scripture is filled with a myriad of examples of people who tried to serve God in their own way. Aaron sons comes to mind. They were met with swift and immediate death. And God told Aaron and Moses you better not mourn them! You can’t serve God the way you want to serve God. He demands obedience. You know this by your last paragraph.
