Religious Beliefs Depicts Christianity To Look & Act A Certain Way. (Reasons I quit going to church)
Many christians are religious and not spiritual, so they limit their beliefs on Christianity to look a certain way, act a certain way and do thier ministry a certain way. In today's churches, you cannot feel comfortable being in your own skin, you can't wear what you have, you can't be yourself all because you're scared of being judged.
It's so funny because it happened to me, I was walked out of my home church because I have my earrings on. Even as desperate as I was to go in, because I needed to speak to God in church, I was stopped by a pastor who knows me well as a worker in church. "He walked me out of church saying children of God can't go inside looking this way"
Now listen carefully, most people think that "Holiness" has to do with "Behavioral Development" in God which is absolutely correct. But not only what Holiness means, you see.. Your behavior is a byproduct of Holiness. Let me explain why I said so..
If you have encountered Christ in a multidimensional way.. you can equally agree with me that your experience with Jesus after encountering him is different, the sick becomes healed, miracles and restoration begins to happen. In otherwords, Holiness in Christ is simply ownership. When you are holy, christ picked you. He chose you and he'd set you apart from the world because you have a special thing to do for him.
So I want to encourage someone today, be you and be comfortable serving God in your own skin. GOD looks at the heart and not your appearance, most of these pastors doing the lords work may look all holy in looks but thier hearts aren't clean.

If you're obedient and submissive to God it simply means "Ownership". You're fully owned, submissive and committed to God, so he owns you.

1y…how the accuser of the brethren will use this to drive you further away from the church. Maybe you did need to hear those words. Get over it, and I’ll see you in church! That’s all, nothing more than to give you something to ponder. C’mon now, were really not gonna let some earrings ostracize you from the church. That’s just silly.

1y…assuming he was a friend. You apparently took offense to it. But maybe it wasn’t personal and you needed to hear it. Are you sure it was only your earrings he had a problem with? I’d like to see those earrings. If you were desperate to speak with God as you claim it would have taken you what, less than a minute to remove your earrings and proceed. Why didn’t you? And why was it imperative that you speak with God that particular day in church? You are aware you can access Him anytime any place right? I think there is more to this post than you’re letting on. Don’t you concern yourself with His church. Jesus got this! You do your part. That’s show up for praise & worship. Everybody on your job isn’t totally committed or doing the right things either. Some are slackers while others may cause division. I don’t see you quitting your job over it. But you’re quick to withdraw from the church. A bad experience does not excuse you. Yes God knows your heart and in His living word you’ll find what He has to say about appearances and dress codes. You were hurt by your church home and this post is in anger. Go back to that pastor and clear this up. I see…

1y…your church home familiarize yourself with what scripture says are the signs of a dead church. Then proceed from there. Jesus is aware of what is happening in His church. I am sorry about your experience but that still is no excuse for you. Sounds like you’re in your feelings. Find a church home. I know they hurt you but you still have an obligation to obey scripture. Your pastor does have a point. We all come to God exactly as we are. But God loves you too much to leave you that way. Maybe your pastor failed to convey that to you. Being in the house of God commands a certain reverence. If the president of America invited you to dinner are you going to show up late? Are you going to wear any old thing out of your closet? Are you showing up at the White House in sweats & sneakers? Then how much more greater is God compared to the president? You are called to be set apart from the world. The church can’t look like the world. Maybe this is what your pastor was trying to say. There is no problem with the boat being in the water. The problem is when the water gets in the boat. You said the pastor that stopped you knows you. Is it possible that maybe you were out of character that day and he addressed that with you? I’m…

1yI don’t agree with everything you’re saying. I am so sorry that happened to you at your church home. I can only imagine what that has done to you. Allow me to interject. All churches are flawed in some way. They don’t have it 100% correct doctrinally and or everyone in the congregation is not 100% on board. Bottom line Bazzy Francis if you find the perfect church don’t join it. You’ll only screw it up. “So I want to encourage someone today, be you and be comfortable serving God in your own skin.” you say. I wouldn’t recommend that. Mat. 7:21-24 is a stern warning. God has a protocol. Scripture is filled with a myriad of examples of people who tried to serve God in their own way. Aaron sons comes to mind. They were met with swift and immediate death. And God told Aaron and Moses you better not mourn them! You can’t serve God the way you want to serve God. He demands obedience. You know this by your last paragraph. In your title, “why I stopped going to church” what do you think He says about that? You are commanded not to forsake the fellowship! You think He doesn’t know what is happening in His church? He gave seven of them explicit warnings in Revelation 2 & 3. One of those churches He used as an example. Before you abandon..
