Rely on God's leading

Rely on God's leading

"But because you are not My sheep, you refuse to believe. My sheep listen to My voice; I know them, and they follow Me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one can snatch them out of My hand"
-Jesus

God designed that humans depend on Him for guidance. Our purpose is to live for Him; seek Him, worship Him & fulfill His will. This implies that those who will attempt to defy this will always go astray. Solomon cautions us in Proverbs 14:12, 'there is a way that seems right to man but its end is destruction'.

I know. O Lord, that a man's life is not his own; it is not for man to direct his steps. Jeremiah 10:23

Self-reliance

Cursed is the one who trusts in human strength and the abilities of mere mortals. His very heart strays from the Eternal. He is like a little shrub in the desert that never grows; he will see no good thing come his way. He will live in a desert wasteland, a barren land of salt where no one lives. Jeremiah 17:5-6

God-reliance

Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it.” Isaiah 30:21

The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside quiet waters. He restores my soul; He guides me in the paths of righteousness for the sake of His name. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. Psalm 23:3-4

The Promise

But blessed is the one who trusts in Me alone; the Eternal will be his confidence. He is like a tree planted by water, sending out its roots beside the stream. It does not fear the heat or even drought. Its leaves stay green and its fruit is dependable, no matter what it faces. Jeremiah 17:7-8
