Removing "remote" from remote work:
Removing "remote" from Remote Work

Removing "remote" from remote work:

We use various terms for working from locations other than the office. We use terms like "remote", "hybrid", "distributed", etc to describe the current work trend. Some even use "online work" as a term to describe the current work culture.

However, according to Annil Chandel, the CEO & Co-founder of Wurkr, using the term "remote" to describe the work culture brings out a negative meaning. The reason is when someone says "remote", it automatically implies the underlying employee isolation, decreased team collaboration, non-effective communication, and more. Additionally, people tend to think that while working in such an environment, employee productivity and efficiency are not at the optimal levels. Annil was talking at a panel conducted by LiveMint on the 17th of January that tried to discuss the "New rules of employee engagement in hybrid working environments".

Annil insists on removing "remote" from "remote work" to advocate the idea an employee can work from anywhere. This does not have to compromise an employee's work ethics, efficiency, and collaboration with his/her team. He says, that Wurkr was developed not just to meet the COVID-19 requirements but to help the world to adopt the hybrid / flexible work culture without facing the challenges of the transition. And how cool is it to have team members from different geographies, cultures and backgrounds come together in a single workplace while also enjoying seamless communication?

The rising trend of more and more companies, especially the types of Slack and Twitter, shows that the relevance of tools like Wurkr will keep increasing until the world of employment is completely hybrid and flexible.
