News from the Region UAE 🇦🇪
🚕 The next step for the Dubai air taxi service has been taken by the signature of an exclusive deal between Parkin and Skyports Infrastructure to develop so-called vertiports. The agreement brings together air travel and the last mile by car thanks to the expertise of both companies.
🌍 The highly anticipated opening of the Global Village in Dubai will take place on the 16th of October (by the time you read this, it took place). Season 29 got extended and will now cover 90 cultures with a focus on culinary treats. It will run until the 11th of May, 2025.
Qatar 🇶🇦 ↗️ Qatar Chamber and the Young Entrepreneurs Club have announced that they will organise the “Young Entrepreneurs Media Forum” from November 15 to 16.
Kuwait 🇰🇼 🚦 Kuwait looks to AI to boost road safety after over 3.1m traffic violations were recorded in the first 6 months - AI cameras have been installed to monitor seatbelt use as well as phone use while driving.
Oman 🇴🇲
↗️ Oman Future Fund has announced $2.2bn of investment projects in partnership with local companies and international investors.
Saudi 🇸🇦
✈️ According to the Ministry of Tourism, the Kingdom is experiencing a 650% growth in lifestyle tourism. Those visitors arrive for entertainment and holidays. Saudi Arabia had set the goal of 100 Million tourists by 2030, but achieved this milestone in 2023, seven years ahead of schedule.
😳 We often get asked why a presence on Social Media is important for a brand. Here is a small example. According to a NielsenIQ report as many as 66 per cent of Saudi consumers search Social Media for product information before a traditional search engine. Saudi consumers still remain cautious due to the rising food prices but the outlook is positive. 🫶🏻 We blogged about it but it deserves a mention in the newsletter as well. Riyadh Season 2024 announced the opening of three zones for the public:
The zones are open from 4pm until midnight (or 1am, depending on the zone).
