Be Responsible for You FIRST!

I can't speak for anyone but myself, but I have come to the opinion and conclusion that so much of what ails our country's current state of overall labor and industries is simply somewhere along the way "we" forgot what it means to be responsible for ourselves first when it comes to how we interact, engage or perform for employers, employees and guest or customers. My point is no one can make anyone do anything they don't want to do. We all actively make decisions based on needs, desires, aspirations and goals. Whichever side of the line you are standing on at any given time in daily life, you must decide to be responsible for yourself first. Your actions, your responses to actions, etc. etc. If you are an employer, you influence culture and expectations based on how a team is brought together. As an employee you decide to perform, adhere or disrupt. Everything from attitude to compensation places a role in what is ultimately delivered on either side of the situation. As a guest, client or customer, you decide what is acceptable to your ability to pay for a service or product, you decide what you want or like and how much you will pay for it. Basically, all these perspectives rely on each person being responsible for their role in the grand exchange of daily living. Hence my point. We must all decide to act or be responsible for ourselves and what we feed or take from the grand scheme of humanity. My point is maybe we all must decide that at some point we have to take some level of responsibility for where “life” lands us. I think if we found our way to seeing that being accountable first to yourself means that at some level, we may see the impact that has on those around us and if its positive than expect a positive outcome and if its negative then that is what creates a ripple. I can’t ask anyone to do or perform in a way that I wouldn’t undertake myself first. It’s just who I am. So, I do always try to first be responsible for what I give to the world. Have a blessed Monday. Join me again soon, where I share my personal journey of being overqualified for one position but under qualified for the position right under it… How’s that, well I have experience and real-world application but not the MBA that comes along with 40 years of trial, error and success. Remember everything is perspective.
