Retail leader leaves local convenience chain

Good morning Baltimore, and welcome to Wednesday.

As a reminder, if you read our 8 Things to Know newsletter on LinkedIn, please see Monday's announcement about our upcoming format shuffle. Long story short, you can still find us here every morning for free, but our LinkedIn version will go to a weekly format instead of a daily one.

With that out of the way, we'll begin today with news that Ice Cube's professional 3-on-3 basketball league is coming to CFG Bank Arena on June 29. Baltimore is one of 10 stops for the league this season, so if you're looking to watch a little (sort of) professional ball in Baltimore, this is your chance.

Now for the news.

High's executive leaves convenience chain

Brad Chivington, senior vice president of High's of Baltimore, has left the company, CSP reports. Chivington led the brand since 2017 and pushed its retail format into growth with a new look. That meant renovations, new store layouts, ground-up construction at new sites and the creation of a full food service menu. Prior to joining High's, Chivington helped lead the Turkey Hill brand for 11 years, per CSP. It's not yet known where Chivington is headed or what the company plans to do with the vacancy. High's told the BBJ in February that the chain would be rolling out new ice cream products to reinforce its position among the growing food-centric convenience store market.

The Barn & Lodge is the latest prong of Titan's expansion plans for Greater Baltimore.
