Retired US Lieutenant General Michael Flynn Calls for President Biden's Removal Amid Escalating Tensions with Russia

As the war between Russia and Ukraine continues to intensify, questions are being raised about President Joe Biden's role in the conflict. Many American citizens are concerned by the level of military aid that the U.S. has provided to Ukraine in the final months of Biden's presidency. Speculation has emerged suggesting that Biden may be attempting to escalate the conflict, potentially laying the groundwork for a larger global war and passing the responsibility to incoming President Donald J. Trump.

Others argue that Biden's actions are driven by a desire to fulfill financial commitments. The U.S. Congress had already allocated funds for military aid to Ukraine, and the Biden administration is working to ensure that Ukraine receives the full amount before the transition of power on January 20, 2025.

ATACMS Missiles: A Risky Move?

One of the most controversial actions has been the approval of the ATACMS (Army Tactical Missile Systems) by the Biden administration, allowing Ukraine to strike deep inside Russian territory. On November 19, 2024, Ukraine launched six of these missiles, five of which were intercepted by Russian forces. One missile successfully hit an arms depot in the Bryansk region of Russia, causing a large explosion that led to evacuations due to the fire hazard.

In response, Russia unveiled its new RS-26 Intermediate-Range Ballistic Missile (IRBM), a hypersonic weapon capable of traveling at speeds of Mach 10. This missile, which carries six independently targetable warheads, struck military facilities in Dnipro, Ukraine, damaging both a rehabilitation center and civilian infrastructure. The escalation has sparked concerns about the potential for a wider war and the growing risk of a nuclear conflict.

The Growing Risk of Global Conflict

The use of ATACMS missiles by Ukraine, with the tacit approval of President Biden, has made Ukraine a legitimate military target in the eyes of Russian President Vladimir Putin. On November 21, 2024, Russia's response with the RS-26 missile marks a significant escalation, particularly given the missile's hypersonic capabilities and the absence of effective missile defense systems to counter it.

Retired U.S. Lieutenant General Michael Flynn has raised alarms about the consequences of these actions, urging for President Biden's removal from office. Flynn argues that Biden's cognitive decline and decision-making abilities pose a grave threat to national and global security. He has called on Vice President Kamala Harris to invoke the 25th Amendment to remove Biden from office before the situation escalates further.

The 25th Amendment: A Path to Presidential Removal?

The 25th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution allows for the removal of a sitting president who is deemed unfit to carry out the duties of the office, either due to physical or mental incapacity. According to General Flynn, Vice President Harris, along with the Cabinet, has the constitutional authority to initiate this process. However, as of now, no such action has been taken.

Flynn's concerns stem from the fact that President Biden still has access to the "nuclear football"—a briefcase containing the launch codes for the U.S. nuclear arsenal. Given the high-stakes nature of the ongoing conflict, Flynn argues that Biden’s mental state could jeopardize not only U.S. security but global peace.

A Dangerous Window: 52 Days to January 20

With only 52 days remaining until President-elect Donald J. Trump is inaugurated; Flynn emphasizes the potential dangers that lie ahead. The United States faces the prospect of a nuclear conflict before the presidential transition, making it imperative that the 25th Amendment be invoked to ensure the nation's security.

The situation is dire, and with tensions escalating on the global stage, many are asking: Can the U.S. afford to wait for the peaceful transfer of power, or is immediate action needed to safeguard the future?
