Retiring in August
Dear LinkedIn friends, I will be retiring from Southern Miss in August. It has been my pleasure and privilege to serve as a faculty member and as Director of the School of Library and Information Science, and I leave with a great sense of pride for the accomplishments of our wonderful students and alumni. The knowledge that our graduates are making a difference in the lives of their communities across the U.S. and internationally has blessed me tremendously, and you will all remain in my thoughts and prayers.
Two of my fondest wishes are to help MLIS students fund their education and to support the Kaigler Children’s Book Festival, so with the help of my family, we have established and endowed two USM Foundation funds:
• Dr. Teresa S. Welsh LIS Scholarship Endowment (2382)
• Dr. Teresa S. Welsh Children’s Book Festival Lecture Endowment (2434)
If you know someone who would like to contribute to either of those funds to support a student scholarship or to support a Kaigler Children’s Book Festival Scholarly Lecture endowment, the link is
