Ive previously broken down the misalignment of job functions stemming from misconceptions of who does what, thats driven into reality over time.
Marketing is NOT a SALES assistant.
Marketing’s core function is to create demand.
However how they do that, is providing a Revenue Led Growth plan, against the following key indicators.
🔴What would the key target audience need to see
🔴 Where would they need to see it
🔴Will that make it real for them? and take them to the dream state and what does that look like?
Utilising Consumer Persona data, they can also link the who what where for the buyer persona B2C or B2B, it actually doesn’t matter, you just link it to the role type… and then cross reference other trigger indicators.
They can also show you within a range of likeliness, who is coming off market, who their providers were, and whats going to make it real for them.
They can profile, best fits and worst fits against persona data of your current best and worst billers.
This is Marketing. If your Marketing team ISNT providing top down targeting that results in Revenue Led Growth plans, test it, see what they are producing and WHY they are and WHO asked them to. You will find your answers there.

Misconception and misalignment stems from the following statements ;
SALES believes Marketing, is there to provide no intent leads.
Marketing gets frustrated with SALES, because they don’t know what they don’t know.
Customer Success, are TOLD they are no longer a SALES department, and guess what, they stop acting like one.
