Revitalising spaces through adaptive reuse
Welcome to spaces that show how we can minimise environmental impact by breathing new life into existing structures and creating new purposes for them.
On Our Mind
When it comes to reuse, scale matters. Just as repurposing buildings benefits the environment, reusing furniture and interior materials can have a positive environmental impact. At Studio IAAD, our adaptive reuse approach combines sensitive renovation techniques with modern upgrades, resulting in spaces that preserve the heritage of the existing fabric with a redefined purpose.

Godrej Experience Centre, New Delhi
Re-characterisation of a heritage space
Any space within a heritage building must reflect its history. This experience centre for Godrej Properties is located in the heritage Imperial Hotel in Connaught Place, Delhi. No civil changes were made during the adaptive reuse of the 2648 sq ft space. The interior execution included curating five lounge areas and a model room with ensuites, each portraying a unique characteristic.

Insights
The fascination with modernism and fancy buildings draped in glass is leading to Indian cities losing their identities while trying to be at par with global cities and not being aware of the country’s climate. Great aesthetics must be complemented with the correct material specifications to be sustainable and offer an optimal user experience.
