The Art of War is attributed to the ancient Chinese military strategist Sun Tzu and remains the most influential book in East Asian warfare as well as in Western cultures. This book explains Chinese military tactics, from strategy and weapons to rank, discipline, and training techniques. What is truly amazing is that this book was written in the 5th century B.C.E.
But what if someone came up with a new way to wage war that was never considered before? Can you imagine if a soldier with Sun Tzu’s brilliant mind could be in multiple places at one time? Imagine a battlefield that includes tanks, fighter jets, snipers, and a front line where everyone carried machine guns.
Sun Tzu might first fire a sniper gun to take out a general in high command. What if, seconds later, he could be the pilot of a fighter jet and dive quickly to finish off the enemy on the right flank? Sun Tzu might then attack from the right flank in a tank and then finally lead the soldiers on the front line with a final charge! That would certainly redefine the art of war.

A High-Performance Data Movement Tool
We supply some of the best software in the world, Nexus, to thousands of users within a company, but instead of then supplying them with tanks, fighter jets, and sniper rifles we place NexusCore Servers strategically on their data battlefield.
This allows any users — even the ones who aren’t technical — to query and move data from different places. A user can then access big data using Nexus from their PC, laptop, or directly from any NexusCore Server. This allows them to run queries and move data from NexusCore servers, which can be 100 times faster and 1000% more efficient than doing it manually.
The most difficult problem Nexus solves is, essentially, allowing a person to be in multiple places at one time. Once you pair your Nexus on the desktop with a NexusCore Server, the server validates your credentials and knows who you are. It then allows you to run queries or move data from the NexusCore Server. You can simultaneously run Nexus queries from your desktop or laptop as well as from the NexusCore Server.
Here’s why this is ground breaking. Let’s imagine you want to move data from SQL Server to Teradata from your desktop. With Nexus, you merely point-and-click, and Nexus moves the data.
It is that simple, but there is a caveat and a reason why your management does not want you to do this. The data has to move from the source database of SQL Server to your PC and then onto the target system of Teradata. It works this way on all systems. Your PC and the local network become the “Achilles heel”, or in data terms, the bottleneck that slows everything down.
But when you kick off the same data movement utility from the NexusCore Server, the data moves from SQL Server to the NexusCore Server to Teradata, meaning no data moves through your PC or through the local network. The NexusCore Server only sends a short message to you informing you the data has moved successfully.
Now that is the Art of War on Data!
What is even more impressive is that users can also perform cross-system joins on the NexusCore Server. Once again, Nexus makes this aspect of data management as easy as point-and-click: the NexusCore Server moves the joining tables to the NexusCore Server where the join is performed. There’s nothing going through your PC or over the local network. As a result, the only thing you receive on your end is the answer set (which is all you really want in the first place).
So, tell your data generals that a new weapon has been created, and get your users ready to move data and perform cross-system joins so you can win against the competition.
