Revolutionizing buffer preparation for biomanufacturing through a cross-industry collaboration

Revolutionizing buffer preparation for biomanufacturing through a cross-industry collaboration

Buffer management is both space and resource-intensive, resulting in operational bottlenecks, necessitating a transition away from the traditional approach, which accounts for up to 20% of capital and operating costs. The NIIMBL-BioPhorum open-source design for an automated buffer blending skid (see link for details) drastically reduces preparation time from a full shift to just one hour, leading to a 48% reduction in per-liter costs at the 2,000 L scale.

We are shaping the buffer prep solutions for the future by removing barriers to implementing, and addressing areas like facility and equipment design, supply chain and raw material transfer.

Your insights in the survey are invaluable for shaping a more reliable, efficient, and sustainable biopharmaceutical manufacturing future.

We would like to hear from end users and Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) companies and particularly from those in positions associated with Quality (QA / QC), buffer preparation (design or operations), and site / facility management. Questions are focussed on understanding your current buffer preparation methodology and perceived barriers to using in line conditioning (buffer stock blending) for buffer preparation. Buffer prep survey.

We would love you to join the BioPhorum team in spearheading these advancements in buffer preparation.
