RIP: LinkedIn Premium Search :(

I feel compelled to comment.

  • Simplify my experience? Nope.
  • Improve my experience? Defo Nope.
  • Make me more productive and successful? Defo Nope.

"Apologize for any inconvenience" - is that the only apology I get?

Hang on - I PAY FOR THIS!

So the moment has come folks. I am forced to move to Sales Navigator if I want to use one of the most useful functions on LinkedIn.

But I do get three months for free. Wow.

Dear LinkedIn,
I'm really hurt.
Your sincerely,
Nigel Cliffe

The big issue here is that we all expect LinkedIn to spend a fortune to give us a system that helps us in our business life, that helps us earn money to feed our families. But then when they have the audacity to expect us to pay for the privilege, we get all arsey about it. I'm not a fan of what LinkedIn are doing, but I think if we complain about a free-to-use system, we are on shakey ground. Part of me wishes I pay $2 a year to be a member, then I would feel justified in bitching and moaning.

The only advantage I can see is that I can send unlimited connection request and our HR guys tell me that the InMail facility really is productive they typically get a 20% response rate

I didn't like sales navigator so I am very disappointed to hear the news. I have found the searches very useful as they were.
