As a design leader, keeping one foot in the present and the other an optimistic future is all in a typical day. However, a little over a year ago, the universe decided to kick one of those feet out from under me and present me with an opportunity to experience life with a physical impairment. 5yReally informative read. Definitely hits home with some of the experiences I’ve had throughout my life. I think as a company’s ability to research, design and ship experience becomes more efficient and less expensive it becomes much more feasible to create experiences that address what is typically considered a very narrow market or segment.

5yWhat a powerful article Joanne. Inclusive Design means the design works for all humans. Every time a designer considers inclusive design we all win. Plus as our societies age and acquire disabilities more people will benefit. Thank you for the leadership.

5yThis is great for physical disabilities, other accommodations for folks on the spectrum require more thinking however. Simple things like workspace design or uniforms or headphones, etc. still have a long way to go.
