RUNNING CONSISTENT ADs? NO, THANKS!
I read somewhere that consistency, relevance, and strong branding are all essential to building creatively effective advertising campaigns, but is this true?
We know that the word 'consistency' is very dear to every marketer's heart, and that's why you'll always see - CONSISTENCY IS KEY in any article remotely related to marketing.
So, in answer to the question, yes, it is true. Consistency is key!
However, you only see results when you keep improving your ads.
If you run ads consistently, your consistency puts your brand at the forefront of people's minds.
Brand familiarity makes someone choose your brand over a competitor. So, running consistent ads will benefit your business, especially if you have a new product/service.
However, while some claim repetitive ads are effective, I do not believe it.
Yes, I know the marketing rule of 7, where a potential customer must see a message at least 7 times before being motivated to take action. Still, it is not enough to convince me.
There is such a thing as too much repetition. You know, that annoying ad that you keep seeing over and over. That one that keeps popping up even though we have seen it a hundred times, yes, I am talking about that one.
I firmly believe that if you repeatedly bombard your potential client with the same message, you risk turning them off.
I think the trick is to strike a balance between repetition and variety. You can keep your audience engaged while still meeting their objectives by varying the frequency of the messages and content.
